Rock Engravings Park
The Park was established with the aim of protecting, conserving, enhancing and promoting knowledge of the rock art heritage...
Thousands and thousands of rock engravings exist in the Valle Camonica parks and the whole area has been declared a World Heritage Site (the first in Italy) by UNESCO. The engravings of Valcamonica, the most famous and important Italian prehistoric relics, were discovered only in 1909, when the Brescia geographer Walther Laeng reported the discovery of two engravings on two boulders near Cemmo.
